Pint of Science 2019
Subject: Mental Health
Professors Sintia Belangero, Andrea Jackowski and Andrea Mello participated in the fourth edition of the Pint of Science Festival, an event that seeks to bring science to the lay public through lectures held in bars and restaurants in several cities in Brazil.
The three researchers addressed the effects of trauma and adversity throughout life: how traumatic childhood events, sexual violence and post-traumatic stress disorder can affect an individual's life, how the environment marks DNA and how these marks can pass to their descendants.
